National Night Out Awards and Recognition



Plainfield's 2007 observance of National Night Out concluded Tuesday, August 7, with the traditional 'Going Away Party for Crime' at City Hall.

Recognition was given and plaques awarded for the extraordinary ward-by-ward efforts at building community awareness, conducting community service projects and encouraging the development and expansion of neighborhood block associations.

The following information was passed along by the NNO Coordinating Committee.

Ward Recognitions --
  • Ward 1 - Community Participation Award
    For outstanding community participation during the National Night Out Ward Challenge.

  • Ward 2 - Community Service Award
    For outstanding community service to the City of Plainfield during the National Night Out Ward Challenge.

  • Ward 3 - Winner for Overall Excellence
    For outstanding excellence in participation, service and spirit during the National Night Out Ward Challenge.

  • Ward 4 - Community Spirit Award
    For providing two community events that captured the spirit of Plainfield.

In addition, plaques for outstanding individual contributions and leadership were presented to --

  • Andrea Kee
  • Police Officer Harrison
  • Detective Thelma Williams
A hearty round of thanks to the NNO Coordinating Committee for its hard work and dedication, as well as to the hundreds of participants in this year's events.
