Show your Jena support

Plainfielders who want to show support of the Jena 6 can get a locally-made Tee shirt from Rubye Dickerson's B.U.S. (Black Universities Supply) Shop. Proceeds from the sales will go to the defense of the six students.

Even though a Louisiana appeals court overturned Mychal Bell's conviction as an adult and remanded the case to juvenile court, he still faces charges while his taunter -- who went after him with a shotgun -- is let off the hook.

The case is finally getting the national attention it should have had long ago.

A demonstration of support is still planned for this Thursday, which would have been the original sentencing date. Many readers have written they are planning to wear black on Thursday, as the defense committee is suggesting. Why not make it a visible statement of support?

As I suspect many Plainfielders will not be able to be present in Jena, wearing a tee is a way to show your support of equal justice in the USA.

The tees are available at $10 each -- $2 of which goes to the Jena 6 Legal Defense Fund -- in sizes from Youth Small to Adult 4XL.
