Is your phone company paying to get off the hook for spying on you?

There are proposals in Congress to give phone companies like Verizon and AT&T RETROACTIVE IMMUNITY for spying on its customers illegally in cooperating with the Bush administration's warrantless wiretapping efforts.

WIRED magazine posted a story on Friday illustrating how the cash is flowing from Verizon and AT&T to Senators like Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) who have a powerful voice in how such legislation will fare.
