Ledger colors Plainfield blue, sort of

Did Plainfielders get justice in the matter of the Ledger's map of statewide presidential pollint results?

Depends on your point of view.

The map itself was not corrected as of early Friday morning (see PDF file here), despite the intervention of Councilor Rashid Burney to see that the Ledger was provided the correct info (see his blog here).

However, a town-by-town table of the presidential and senatorial votes in Union County was printed on page 39 in the Union County section.

Here is how Plainfield voted, per the Ledger's table --

PLAINFIELD VOTES

FOR PRESIDENT
Obama
McCain
14,498

1,035

FOR SENATE
Lautenberg
Zimmer
11,659
1,153

So, we can color ourselves blue even if the Ledger never gets around to it, and be proud that our turnout appears to be in the 85% range (from my rough reckoning).

Considering the state of New Jersey, I'm not sure anyone should be proud to have voted for Lautenberg.
