Hidden Plainfield: January 16 home ID

This view this contemporary commands could be of a country club, but is not.

Of course it was both a clue and a diversion that yesterday's Hidden Plainfield home has 'a country club view'.

Truth is the home stands at the head of Chelsea Boulevard at St. Nicholas Avenue, and adjacent to Milt Campbell Field, as one reader knew.

Blue circle indicates home's location adjacent to Milt Campbell Field.

The 'country club' connection?

Plainfield parks and recreation supervisor Dave Wynn has long dreamed of turning Milt Campbell Field into a nine-hole golf course, and once lobbied Mayor Al McWilliams for such a project.

McWilliams felt at the time that it was not ultimately a cost-effective use of tax dollars, given the required investment in converting the fields and the ongoing staff and upkeep requirements.

Time has proven his assessment correct.

Where shall we go next week?
