Motorcycle accident at South and Leland

Accident was at South and Leland. Photo courtesy Cheri Bullock.

Plainfield witnessed another serious motorcycle accident Saturday evening at the intersection of South and Leland Avenues.

I was told the motorcyclist was traveling west at a high rate of speed, making a left turn onto Leland Avenue southbound, losing control of the motorcycle and slamming into a car exiting the Shell gas station on the corner.

The photo above is taken from the gas station side of the street, with local restaurant Sugah, No Cream in the background.

Look for details later.

I wonder why the state and the police let bike riders get away with so much. The bikes are allowed to be then times louder than any car and the bike riders in Plainfield speed all the time.

I see them doing wheelies and driving at over 50 mph on the streets of Plainfield. I think the police need to step up and help with this problem.

So true said...I see the same thing with the bikers showing off as well as cars tailgating. Cars passing you because you are doing the speed limit! Cab drivers driving crazy and the best is when cars are blocking your lane and you have to go around because they are talking to someone and I see a police car not far behind me and I see the police drive around that car that is blocking the traffic as well. What the heck.I try to avoid Plainfield as much as possible I love it but too much drama.

This is incorrect information. I was there when it happened. The cyclist had not made any turns. He was coming straight down leland ave crossed over south ave, and was cut off by the driver. Please correct your info

Mother of the Biker said....My son was the victim that was riding the bike. Everything that was stated in this article was false. I suggest all that have so much to say, before you judge someone, get the real facts. In this accident the driver of the car was issued 8 tickets. Please see the police report located at the Plainfield police station. "Documentation beats Conversation!!!"

I am the cyclist you all are referring to. Performing simple everyday tasks has become extremely difficult and seemingly impossible since the accident. Although this is the LAST thing i should be worried about, it hurts me to know that there is false information being posted about the incident. In my hands, I have the official police report in which it clearly states that I was not at fault in the least bit.
Although I am not a "well experienced" rider, I am a cautious, mindful, and humble rider. I ask that you all please get your facts together before passing judgement on me or my "in-experienced" riding. I'm grateful to be living and I no longer take the little things for granted as I once used to. "CeeCee", no need to come at me like that, if u care to know the truth, please contact me since u seem to know me. I won't tell you "my side" of the story. Rather, I'll replay the surveillance tape from Shell gas station that was recovered by my legal team. Dan Damon, I will be more than happy to give you an interview so that in the future the validity of your future blogs will not be questioned...thanks

Motorcyclists should always have full control of their speed. Accidents happen when a driver acts as if they own the road. Stricter policies and disciplinary actions should be given to lawbreakers! The government should take this serious to lessen road mishaps.
