10th Anniversary of 9/11: Area commemorations

Residents throughout Plainfield have displayed flags on past 9/11 anniversaries.

The tenth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks is next Sunday.

Both the Courier (see here) and the Ledger (see here) have published detailed listings of commemorations planned throughout the state.

Though the Ledger lists seventeen commemorations for Union County alone (not counting the County's official observance noted by the Courier), you will search in vain for any notice of a commemoration in Plainfield -- nor will one be found on the City's website.

In previous years, I have posted photos of Plainfield residents' flag displays and will be happy to do so again this year, plus any thoughts you would care to share at this solemn time.

Please email me your pictures by Saturday -- to plaindan at gmail dot com -- so I can organize them for the Sunday post. You can also email me your comments and thoughts, or wait and post them on Sunday when the blog post goes up.

The nearest commemorations listed are for North Plainfield and Scotch Plains.

Dan, You make sense alot, but on this as the City is doing so many things badly, let's just step away and let the County's one be where the Mayor may go to for the City.
