Plainfield's Historic Preservation Commission is sponsoring a free workshop Saturday on the care of wood windows, and your photos can help make it a smashing success.

Bring photos of your window problems and questions for the experts to answer.

Attendees will learn about inspecting and assessing wooden windows, options for repair and restoration, making windows more energy-efficient, and new and replacement window options.

Local architects, contractors and historic preservationists will make presentations, followed by a Q&A. For more information, call (908) 753-3391.

Like moi, your older home may contain many sorts of wood windows,
and you may have inherited others' attempts to deal with them.
