Drake House program Sunday identifies many Blacks in historic photos

Plainfield Historical Society trustees JoAnn Bandomer, Andrea Kee and Nancy Piwowar sleuthed some historic Plainfield photo showing Black residents and have identified a number of previously unknown residents. Piwowar will discuss their findings in a gallery talk at the Drake House Museum Sunday afternoon, entitled 'How Dinah the Cook identified many in Laing Hotel photo'.

The gallery talk accompanies the month-long Black History Month exhibit of African-American images from the Society's collection. The exhibit includes recent acquisitions focused on the late Plainfield Olympian Milt Campbell.

Piwowar's gallery talk is at 2:30 PM Sunday. The Drake House Museum at 602 West Front Street (at the foot of Plainfield Avenue) is open to the public Sunday afternoons from 2:00 - 4:00 PM, and at other times by appointment.
