US Senate candidates debate tonight on NJTV

Democratic candidates for U. S. Senate seat will debate tonight.
From top left: Cory Booker; Rush Holt, Sheila Oliver, Frank Pallone.

Plainfielders following the primary race for the late Sen. Frank Lautenberg's vacant U.S. Senate seat will have an opportunity to look over the Democratic field tonight.

The four Democratic candidates will appear in a live debate at Montclair State University which will be broadcast on NJTV beginning at 7:30 PM (see the station schedule here).

This is the first time that front-runner Cory Booker will be facing off with the other three -- Rep. Rush Holt, Rep. Frank Pallone and Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver.

Pallone was Plainfield's Congressional representative for ten years, being replaced in the most recent election when the city was moved into Rush Holt's district.

Those who are cheering for Ms. Oliver will have a chance to show their support this coming Sunday afternoon, when she is slated to be in Plainfield for a meet-and-greet.
