(BOE) Candidate Forum by teachers' union Wednesday at Hubbard School

The PEA candidate forum will be at Hubbard School Wednesday evening.

As the Plainfield Board of Ed election draws near, the public will be getting chances to hear and question the various candidates.

One such is the candidate forum set for Wednesday, April 6, at 6:30 PM at the Hubbard School auditorium.

The forum is sponsored by the Plainfield Eductation Association (PEA), the union representing about 1,000 teachers, aides and administrative support staff. This is a considerable segment of the voters who turn out for school board elections, and candidates will be on their toes.

After Sunday's NAACP candidate forum, I have heard reports that incumbent Wilma Campbell is on the defensive, even though that was considered an extremely friendly venue.

Hubbard Middle School is at 661 West 8th Street, near Spooner Avenue. There are a couple of steps up to the entrance. A parking lot is available off Stelle Avenue, and there is parking on the street on the 8th Street side of the building.
