COCOMAMA CONCERT THURSDAY
Plainfield's free summer concert series continues Thursday evening (August 17) with a performance by Cocomama, the all-female Hispanic World Music group. The performance gets under way at 7:00 PM at City Hall Plaza, Watchung Avenue and East 6th Street.

Cocomama is an all-female band named after the Incan goddess of health and happiness. They focus on Afro-Cuban, Afro-Caribbean, and Latin American repertoire. More about the group and their first album "Quiero" here.

Bring a lawn chair and a friend.

The concert series continues next week (August 24) with a DJ Dance Party and concludes August 31 with an encore performance by the Flavuh, the metro area's premier neo-soul band.

FRIDAY IS SID FAMILY FUN NIGHT
The SID's annual Family Fun Night takes place Friday (August 18) at the Union County Building Plaza at West Front Street and Park Avenue, running from 6:00 - 9:00 PM.
