Vision 2025: Economic development and vibrancy are focus Tuesday at Calvary Baptist

Public Safety participants from last week's listening
session gather for a group portrait.

Plainfield's Vision 2025 listening sessions continue Tuesday evening (October 3) at Calvary Baptist Church, with the focus being on "Economic Development and Vibrancy".

If you have printed materials distributed earlier, please note this is a venue change. Calvary Baptist Church is at 324 Monroe Avenue (corner of Monroe and West 4th Street). Parking is available in the church lot and on the street. Entrance tothe Fellowship Hall is at the rear of the church, off the parking lot.

Economic development is involved with the overall development of a vibrant community: attracting new businesses and jobs, as well as new opportunities for shopping, services and entertainment.

What would a further revitalized Plainfield look like in 2025?

Come on out and share your thoughts and suggestions.

All listening sessions get under way at 7:00 and finish at 8:300 (or very close to it).

The purpose of these sessions is for community members to brainstorm ideas for action items in the subject area -- both large and small -- as well as to identify stakeholders, resources (including funding sources) and next steps.

Each session follows a similar pattern: Attendees are invited to jot down one idea on each of three Post-It notes provided when they arrive; the action team then sorts the notes into groups with a similar theme, and participants gather around tables (one theme to a table) to further discuss and refine the suggestions on the Post-It notes. To close the evening, each table reports out its ideas to the whole group.

Records are kept of all suggestions, which will then be incorporated into a public presentation to be made on November 4 at Plainfield High School.
